Holiday cooking can be overwhelming for even the most seasoned cooks. So whether this is your first time or not, we have put together a couple safety tips for when the oven is rolling with casseroles and pots covering the stove!
- Start with a clean cooking area- grease builds up on stove tops and in ovens. Consider cleaning the surface prior to Thanksgiving cooking to prevent fires.
- DO NOT unplug smoke detectors- we know it is tempting when cooking but let the detector do its job. Keep it connected.
- Avoid multitasking- keep your area tidy and focus on one thing at a time.
- Children and pets- Keep children and pets clear from the cooking area. Never hold a child while cooking.
